This work - begun in 1209 / 1794-5 (sic), for which 1219 / 1804-5 is the correcta - was produced as the author's personal project, with access to state records provided by Hyderabad's mīr munshīʾ, Mīr ʿAzīz Allāh, and dedicated to the reigning Niẓām al-Mulk, Āṣaf Jāh Mīr Akbar ʿAlī Khān (d. 1829)
