Title: Shigarf'nāmahTitle: شگرف نامهTravelogue describing the author's journey with Captain Archibald Swinton on his mission to deliver a letter from the Timurid or Mughal Emperor Shāh ʿĀlam to King George III, departing 9 Shaʿbān 1180/10 January 1767 from Bengal for England, but not his return in 1183/1769. The work was written in 1199/1785
The work gives a reasonably detailed account of the author's early career and its resumption following his return to India
The account includes significant descriptions of English society and civic institutions from an occidental perspective, as well as observations on Christianity and Islam
