Collection of three detatched Arabic and Persian calligraphic specimens or qiṭaʿāt in various cursive and monumental scripts (s̲uls̲, naskh, rayḥān, riqāʿ, tawqīʿ, nastaʿlīq, shafīʿāʾī), illuminated in gold and blue pigment on burnished paper, dedicated by a certain Khvājah Shāh "Niyāz", the calligrapher, to William Moorcroft, better known for his aborted expedition to Tibet in 1812, and the British East India Company’s failure to gain concessions from the rulers of Ladakh
All specimens are dated 1238/1822-3, but only one mentions the calligrapher's full name
