A copy of the Persian text of the Treaty of Commerce negotiated between the East India Company and the Nauwāb Āṣaf al-Daulah of Oudh, آصف الدوله , and signed by Lord Cornwallis, Governor-General, on behalf of the Company, and by the Nawab-Wazir for himself, on 15th July, 1788.See Aitchison 1893, page 15.

The text of the treaty was printed at Calcutta in 1788, in English, Persian, and Bengali: this pamphlet, one of the incunabula of Persian and Bengali printing, is now exceedingly rare, but a copy is preserved in the India Office ibrary

A note on the fly-leaf, in a hand dated 1828, reads:
