Title: Lubb al-tavārīkhTitle: لب التواريخA summary account of Islamic and Iranian history down to 948/1542, dedicated to the Safavid prince Abū l-Fatḥ Bahrām Mīrzā, fourth son of Shah Ismā‘īl, by Mīr Yaḥyà ibn ‘Abd al-Laṭīf al-Qazvīnī (d. 962/1555). Comprises four sections (qism).
For this work, manuscripts and partial translations, see Storey PL I/1 pp. 111-13; more detailed is Storey/Bregel’ PL I, pp. 399-403. See also Elliot and Dowson, History of India, IV, pp. 293-7. Lubb al-tavārīkh was published at Bombay (Mumbai) in 1302/1884 and at Tehran in 1314/1936. Other BL copies: Or. 140, Add. 16707, Add. 23512, and Add. 6541 f. 9-127 (see BM I, 104-5; II, 797); I.O. Islamic 526, 1986, 3394 and (a fragment) 61 (see IO I cols. 31-2, 37).
Other contents: a small number of brief marginalia throughout: ff 68v-73v, Z̲ikr-i aḥvālāt-i Abū Naṣr-i Fārābī: notes on the philosopher al-Fārābī (4th/10th century); 73v-84v, Guftār dar ba‘żī-yi aḥvālāt-i Shaykh al-Ra’īs Abū ‘Alī-i Sīnā, nuskhha-’i ṣaḥīḥ dar dast āvardam nivishtam kih dar nazd-i ahl-i sayr makhfī namā[na]d: on the polymath Ibn Sīnā (d. 428/1037); front flyleaf, label with title, author, and number 227; several erased seal impressions on various folios, e.g. 127r.
