An elaborately worded history of the conquest of Kirman, ‘Iqd al-ūlā li-l-mawqif al-a‘lá, in 581-3/1185-7, by the Ghuzz chieftain Malik Dīnār. The author Afżal al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn Hamid Munshī, commenced this work in 584/1188.

Calligraphic nasta‘līq. Qur’ānic and other Arabic passages in naskhī. 15 lines. Headings, overlinings, and some verses in red. Text frames: black and gold. Exquisite gilt and polychrome illuminated headpiece. Interlinear gilt text opening, 1v-2r. Off-white paper of medium thickness, sized. 68 folios. 261 x 160 mm.; text area 179 x 88 mm. Blue marbled endpapers. Red morocco binding with gilt ornamentation in European style around the edges.
