1 copy of Baḥr al-muftīyīn
A compilation of texts on an unusual combination of subjects: jurisprudence and divination. In keeping with the title, texts relating to the office of qāżī are prominent. Some texts are in Arabic, some in Persian. The volume has the appearance of a manuscript designed for printing by lithography. Two Hadiths surrounded by silver circles, 4v-5r. Seal impression on f. 1r. The contents table on f. 5v-7r lists 251 individual texts or parts of works.
Kabul. Dated 1236/1820. Copied by Muḥammad ‘Alī ibn Muḥammad Qāsim Ulā’ī Turkmānī, originally from Buqma in Khurāsān.
Naskhī and nasta‘līq, some texts being written diagonally in the margins. The number of lines per page varies. Red headings (??) and key words. Blue paper. 270 folios, plus 2 blank but for ruling. 34 x 22 cm. Brown morocco binding with blind medallions and borders, now faint.
