Hebrew language. The moralistic tale 'keṿiyah taḥat keṿiyah', by the the Hebrew and Yiddish writer Nahum Meir Schaikewitz (“Shomer”), who put the narration into the mouth of his fictional alter ego, Yudke Shmerkes.
The title, taken from Exodus 21:25, means ‘burn for burn’, and indicates that everyone gets his just deserts, measure-for-measure.
