Notebook used by Alexander Monro to take notes on a course of approximately 76 anatomy lectures given by the surgeon Edward Stanley at St Bartholomew's Hospital between January and May 1829. The lectures are recorded primarily in pen, with early lectures being given names and numbers, this practice largely falling by the wayside as the course goes on.
The notebook primarily consists of Monro's notes on the lectures, but also includes lists of books recommended by Stanley and sketches by Monro of a complete skeleton, three heads or skulls, and a bust of John Abernathy.
