The material comprises: various letters received by the soprano Kate Winter; a mounted photograph of a commemorative plate presented to Henry Wood (1933) signed by many soloists including Winter; and a collection of programmes, largely for BBC Promenade Concerts (including two concerts in which she performed).
(1). Letters received:
- 28 Oct 1928 (franking date). Ralph Vaughan Williams to Winter, thanking her for her 'beautiful singing' in his Pastoral Symphony. (Performed 4 Oct 1928 - for concert programme, see below). Autograph with envelope.
- 3 Aug 1931. Michael Head to Winter, after hearing Winter perform 'on the wireless' his song 'Sweet chance that led my steps'. Autograph.
- 23 May 1932. Pedro J. Tillett (BBC). On behalf of Sir Thomas Beecham, thanking Winter for her 'excellent performance' in 'The Village Romeo and Juliet'. Typed, signed.
- 11 Mar 1933. Arthur Fagge to Winter. With thanks for 'your good help last Thursday'. Typed, signed, with envelope.
- 27 Jul 1933. Harriet Cohen to Winter. Organising a collection from soloists to celebrate Sir Henry Wood's 39th year of conducting. Typed, signed, with envelope.
- 12 Feb [1936]. Schedule for a recital of songs by Cyril Scott, Winter accompanied by the composer. Empire Broadcasting. Typed list (1 sheet), with annotations referring to a further performance on 19 Dec 1937.
- 25 Oct [1936?]. Cyril Scott to Winter, advising that he is no longer able to travel and therefore unable to provide accompaniment. Typed, signature cut out (annotated 'Cyril Scott' in Winter's hand).
- 13 Apr 1936. Henry Wood to Winter. With thanks for her singing in Wagner's Parsifal. Autograph (2 sheets) with envelope.
- 13 Aug [no year]. Michael Head to Winter, after hearing her singing 'Star Candles' on the radio. Autograph.
- Printed slip (no date) announcing that Sir Henry J. Wood 'will gladly give his autograph for the sum of Two Shillings and Sixpence which will be handed to a Musicians' Charity'.
- April 1944, 'somewhere in the North Atlantic'. Appreciative letter from Capt. Henry Bjonness. Autograph with envelope.
- 17 Aug 1944. John Clements to Winter. Appreciative letter from the composer of the song 'Blue and White' heard on the radio. Typed, signed (BBC letterhead).
- 10 Jul 1946. Michael Head to Winter, after hearing her sing his song 'The Fairy Tailor' on the radio. Autograph.
- 21 Dec 1952. Arthur Cranmer to Winter, thanking her for 'writing so appreciatively about my recital'. Autograph lettercard with envelope. Together with an undated autograph lettercard from Philip Cranmer (from the same address in Oxford) thanking her for her letter of sympathy to his mother.
- 27 Jul 1956. Moura Lympany to Winter, thanking her for her letter of sympathy 'on the death of my baby'. Autograph with envelope (stamps cut off).

Mounted sepia photograph (260 x 235 mm including mount) of a commemorative plate presented to Sir Henry Wood 'on the occasion of his thirty-ninth season of the Promenade Concerts by some of his Soloist Friends'. The signatories include Kate Winter. See the letter above from Harriet Cohen (27 Jul 1933).
