Sermons and homilies for the dedication of synagogues and homes; written or collected by Hakham Ezra Reuben Dangoor (HED). Sometimes, the dedication ceremony was held in conjunction with the holiday of Ḥanukah, which celebrates the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple, and the name of which means 'dedication', the same term used for the dedication of any building, etc.

Or 17094 (1): Sermon for the dedication of the House of Study (bet ha-midrash / בית המדרש) of the Talmud Torah, Sabbath of the Torah Portion Terumah / תרומה, beginning of the Month Adar I 5646 [Anno Mundi, = 6 February 1886].

Or 17094 (2): Sermon for dedication of home, Hebrew Ḥinukh ha-bayit / חנוך הבית, on the 8th day of Ḥanukah / חנוכה, week of the Torah reading Ṿa-Yigash / ויגש, year 5651 [Anno Mundi, = Sunday 14 December 1890].

Or 17094 (3): Tuesday, 4 Nisan 5654 [= 10 April, 1894], Sermon for the dedication of the house of study, here, Rangoon, may God protect the city. (During HED's tenure as rabbi of Rangoon.)
