Language(s): Persian and ArabicHistorical account on the emergence of Islam and its early rulers, translated into Persian by an unnamed translator from the original Arabic work by Fakhr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar al-Rāzī (d. 606/1210).
The work was translated in haste in a simple style for the benefit of those unable to comprehend Arabic and to nurture awareness among the pious at the order of the Timurid (Mughal) Emperor ʿĀlamgīr I (d. 1118/1707).
Dated colophon (f. 214v): completed by Muḥammad Ismāʿīl Anṣārī, Monday at noon, 6 Shaʿbān 1154 (written in reverse)/17 October 1741.
Scribal nastaʿlīq tending to shikastah āmīz.
Annotations in margins, cropped.
Rebound in red IOL leather boards, stamped and dated 9 Nov 1912.
Folios severely worm-eaten; net overlay at beginning and end; cropped, stained.
