Summary of Contents: Important early volume dating from the author’s lifetime and owned by a member of the author’s circle of associates. Compendious collection or kullīyāt of poetic compositions in varied forms and genres by the polymath literary commentator, Persian grammarian, and poet Mīr Shams al-Dīn ʿAbbāsī Dihlavī with the takhalluṣ Faqīr and Maftūn (d. 1183/1769), the son of Sayyid ʿIvaz̤ Khān (deputy governor of Lahore), a descendent of Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Kishīkī ʿAbbāsī according to a note added at the beginning by the former owner of this volume, Fatḥ ʿAlī Ḥusaynī Riz̤avī Gardīzī, author of the Taz̲kirah-'i Bībadal-i Hindī (a study of early poets of Rekhtah/Urdu). The author found patronage at Lucknow after fleeing the chaos of imperial Delhi.
