Ramayana is a much venerated epic containing the stories of life and activities of Rama. This has been a very famous book among the Hindus. Sita is also venerated as a Hindu Devī who is a Daughter of King Janaka of Janakapur which comes within the Mithilā region. To highlisht the role of Sitā in the life and activities of Rama a book entitled Sitāyaṇa was written. This book is highly venerated in the entire Mithila region.
