Custodial history: The manuscript dates from the Ulaganathakurukkal era. Therefore, the age of the manuscript is 400 years. The old manuscript was written by Sellakkurukkal and Ulaganathakkurukal. The manuscripts were continued for five generations. Ulganathakkurukal was born in India, and he traveled to Sri Lanka. He traveled through Pallaly and came to Thirunelveli. There, he went and worshipped Thalangaavil Pillayar Kovil. From there, he traveled to Keyrudaavil and built Kodil Kantha Swamy Kovil. From there, he traveled to Batticaloa and built the Kathirgama Swamykal Kovil in Kurugalmadam. These manuscript collections belong to that era. A Sikh person did research on this manuscript because there are connections to the Punjab, the Golden Temple, and Ulganathakurukal. The generation of Ulaganathakurukal starts with his father, Sellakurukal. Ulganatha Kurukal, his son Balasunbramaniyan, and his grandchildren Muthuswamy Kurukal and Kurunatha Kurukal wrote it. Currently, Muthuswamykurukal has preserved the manuscript.
