Custodial history: The manuscripts Vinyakar Kañcaṉ am'māṉai,vināyakar purāṇam are owned by Vadivel Mahintthiran. The father's side of his family gave him the manuscript. The text is dated to the 18th and 19th centuries. The manuscript was used by his great-grandfather (Vēlāppōṭi pūcakar). Sennaiya, his son, took possession of the manuscript from him. He was a doctor as well as a priest. The manuscript was kept by him for more than 40 years. When he passed away in 1970, his son Vadivel—the father of Mahinthiran—took control of the manuscript. Mahindthiran was granted possession of the manuscript in 2006 and took care of it. He said that many of their manuscripts had been destroyed by natural disasters. The manuscript is in Thimithilai Vishu Temple, and his family has the responsibility to preserve it.
