Custodial history: Mooththathamby Arumbalam (retired teacher) is the owner of 23 bundle of manuscripts that contain astrology, nikandu, viralviduthuthu, amuthakaram, chthardoodam. He is from Araambathi. They are from his paternal line. His paternal garndfather, Kathirkamar (doctor, Poochakar), used these manuscripts who lived in Thirukovil (Amparai district) He has been preserving the records for more than 50 years. He mentions that the main reason why he got this records is his uncle, Ilayathambiar, because there is a tradition from ancient times in the Batticaloa areas of burying or burning the belongings of a person along with his body. Most of these records belong to the 18th and 19th centuries. He also mentions that only those who belong to his lineage and Ponnachi clan can perform pooja at Arayampathi Kannakayamman temple.
