Summary of Contents: An anthology of ancient and contemporary verses by Bandah ʻAlī Bāsiṭī Niʻmat Allāhī, copied at Lucknow (f. 1r) between 1162/1749 (f. 203r) and 1178/1764, the date of the author’s inscription on f. 1r.Title: Bayāz̤Title: بیاضColophon: Undated colophon (f. 203v): Copied by Muḥammad Bāqir ibn Ḥasan ʻAskarī.The work is preceded (ff. i verso – v recto) by a thematic index.
The khāṭimah (ff 202v-204r) contains biographical details of the author.
Some marginal additions are in the hand of the compiler (eg. f. 49r).
Note (f. 1r) signed by the author, Bandah ʻAlī Bāsiṭī Niʻmat’Allāhī, dated 14 Jumada I, 1178 (9 Nov. 1764), mentions that this copy of his Bayāz̤ was copied in Lucknow and was presented by him to Sayyid Nūr ʻAlī.
This work appears to be substantially the same as Rylands [https://www.fihrist.org.uk/catalog/manuscript_7148] Persian MS 646 , but different from British Library [https://www.fihrist.org.uk/catalog/manuscript_16712] Delhi Persian 1303 .
