Tafsīr i Sūrah Raḥmān
- Scope & Content:
- A treatise on the principles of Islamic belief and ceremonial law, in Dakhani prose. By Qazi Ghulam Ahmad.
Begins:
The work was compiled for Tipu Sultan, and is apparently the author's autograph copy. It is divided into two parts (qism), with the headings:
The second part is subdivided into numerous babs and fasls, an index to the names of which (differing slightly from those appearing in the text) is prefixed to the work. The original title of the work, as given in the preface (fol. 4b), began with the word احکام. This has been smudged over and خلاصہ سلطانی is substituted in its place. this latter title appears also on the heading of the table of contents.
Ghulam Ahmad is also the author of two Persian theological works. Please consult the Persian catalogue for further details.
