A treatise in verse on the principles of the Islamic faith and religious observances. By Saiyid Fazl 'Ali. Begins:
Fazl 'Ali belonged to the Chishti ORder and was a disciple of Maulana Fakhr al-Din. In his prologue he has written a eulogy of him and of his two successors, Nur Muhammad, and Sulaiman, who was the prelate to the Order when the work was composed in A.H. 1240 (A.D. 1824-25).
The author explains the articles of Islamic belief, and the observances of prayers and other obligatory religious duties. He has also given an account of the birth, virtues, and death of Muhammad, with anecdotes of saints, a table of succession of the Chishti prelates from Muhammad, through Hasan, to Sulaiman, with the day of the month of the death of each, and also of the members of the family of Muhammad, and of the twelve Imams, concluding with a collection of Arabic prayers for stated occasions, with Hindustani rubrics and comments. Copyist: Arshad 'Ali.
