This collection contains Portuguese manuscript documents from the Church of Santo Antônio de Sá in the present-day city of Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The volumes were produced during the colonial, imperial, and Republican periods and consist of bpatismal records (1652-1891), marriage records (1719-1809), and burial records (1714-1862) of free, freed (forro/liberto), and enslaved people.
Custodial history: The volumes were produced by the Church of Santo Antônio de Sá, Itaboraí-RJ. In accordance with local custom and Canonical Law, all documentation of a permanent nature produced by the Parish is transferred to the Archive of the Archdiocese of Niterói after 70 years.
