Description: 1 kan, 1satsu. Folios unnumbered. 21.5 × 15.5 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. No borders orprinted hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text, with printed dakuten. 8 lines to page, variable number of characters to line.
Original printed titleslip on front cover: Danjo shinjū kasane izutsu 男女心中重井筒. Title from naidai at head of text.
One of a collection ofshōhon 正本 (jōruri chanter's certified texts) of 27 jōruri plays byChikamatsu Monzaemon. The chanter's (太夫の) certificate is printed on the last pagepreceding the kanki. A printed label of certification with the name of Takemoto Chikugonojō 竹本筑後掾 is also affixed to the front cover.
