Files contain correspondence relating specifically to UK and foreign rights for stage plays, television and radio plays, films and publications [as applicable to each client]. Files may also include personal correspondence [autograph and typescript], contracts, treatments and synopses for plays and screenplays, excerpts from scripts, professional and amateur stage licences, programmes, press cuttings and other ephemera. For many clients, only partial records exist. Copies of letters from Peggy Ramsay will be found in nearly all of these files, although not all out-letters were retained.

- Client files were originally interspersed with other correspondence. This correspondence has been arranged in a separate series by the archivist [see Add MS 88915/2]. Author photographs and set photographs have also been arranged in a separate series [see Add MS 88915/14].

Original divisions of client files have been maintained where a discernable order exists. Files were arranged either by play or by medium [stage, television and radio, film, publication]. Correspondence has been ordered chronologically by the archivist, following the roughly chronological original order. Where papers in a file have been sub-divided by play, correspondent or medium these divisions have been maintained. Some labelling of these subdivisions has been altered to more accurately reflect the contents. Contracts are interfiled with correspondence or grouped together, depending on original order.
