Title:

الفجر al-Fajr (1935)

Scope & Content:

The series contains digital images of 6 issues of al-Fajr ('Dawn'), covering the period 1 June 1935 - 5 August 1935.

al-Fajr was 'a weekly magazine for culture and art', published in Jaffa by Iskander Halabi. Arif al'Azuni was the director, and Muhammad Sayf al-Din al-Irani was its chief editor.

The publication often included photographs of famous western actresses, and would put these photographs on the front cover, which was unusual for the Arabic press at the time.
