Also included is scientific correspondence relating, for example, to draft manuscripts, publications and reviews. Originally arranged alphabetically by author last name. Files of correspondence from authors with last names starting A-E were not found as part of this series. Most important scientific and personal correspondence is contained in subject files (Add MS 86597-86830), including files consisting exclusively of scientific and personal correspondence. The series of manuscript items held with offprints received by Maynard Smith (Add MS 86840) includes correspondence relating to drafts and publications collected by Maynard Smith. There is a small amount of correspondence with Maynard Smith's own publications (Add MS 86569-86574).
