- 'Idomeneo', opera in 3 acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, libretto by Abbé Giovanni Battista Varesco, after Antoine Danchet's libretto for André Campra's opera 'Idomenée'. Orchestral parts, with some vocal material for single items. The parts still contain some of the sand used for blotting and are mostly unmarked, though some cuts have been made and subsequently removed in the wind parts. Also included is a single 20th century violin part. All the orchestral parts have the printed overture of the Monzani & Hill publication, 'The Overture to Idomeneo, for a Grand Orchestra, composed by W. A. Mozart' [c 1825]; the string parts have the title page also. First performed at Munich on 29 January 1781. The first British performance was at Glasgow in 1934, the first English professional performance at Glyndebourne in 1951.
