R.M.21.a.1-4. ROYAL MUSIC COLLECTION. Alday (Paul). String Quartets; early 19th century. Autograph. 4 vols. of string quartet music, in score and separate parts, bound up in confusion. Vols.i-iii are evidently part of a complete set of quartets by Alday, as they are numbered, though fragmentary and incomplete; there are 35 quartets in these vols., and parts of 7 or 8 more in vol.IV, which also contains (f.30 onwards) an incomplete horn quintet. The texts are full of omissions and in a careless French hand.
