ENGLISH LITERATURE: Rotographs of a MS. in the possession of Lt.-Col. Edward George Troyte-Bullock (d. 1942), of Zeals House, Mere, co. Wilts., containing 'The Sodderd Citizen', usually attributed to Shackerley Marmlon, but perhaps in fact by John Clavell, n.d. [? circ. 1633]. Edited from this MS. by J. H. P. Pafford and W. W. Greg for the Malone Society in 1936. Bound in a second, separate volume is the following material:-(1) three leaves of notes on the play by the donor;-(2) rotographs of a leaf of the Oxford Subscription Register, 16 Feb. 1621, containing the only known example of Marmion's hand, together with two communications to the donor from Strickland Gibson, 1 and 9 Oct. 1935;-(3) ultra-violet photograph of John Clavell's signature at the foot of f. 2 of the Troyte-Bullock MS.;-(4) copy of, and notes on, Clavell's 'Recantation' by the donor, together with a communication from Strickland Gibson, 9 Dec. 1935;-(5) rotographs of Oxford, Bodl. Lib., MSS. Ashmole 174, f. 132, and 243, f. 162, illustrating Clavell's horoscope;-(6) rotograph of a leaf of the Oxford Subscription Register, 19 Nov. 1619, containing Clavell's signature;-(7) rotograph of Bodl. Lib., MS. Rawlinson D. 868, f. 97, containing a medical recipe signed by Clavell, n.d (after summer 1634), together with a letter to the donor from Edgar Lobel, 7 Oct. 1935;-(8) rotographs of Add. MS. 6276, f. 82, containing the signature of Thomas Fox on the recto. All the above material is incorporated in the introduction to the Malone Society edition.
