The 'South Polar Times', a magazine compiled for the entertainment of the Expedition by Apsley George Benet Cherry-Garrard, its assistant zoologist; 1911. Mostly typewritten. Illustrated with coloured drawings, caricatures, photographs and including songs, parodies, etc. Published, with occasional minor omissions (see 51040, ff. 4, 5), in 1914 as a continuation of the 'South Polar Times' for 1902-1903, published in 1907 (Printed Books press-mark Tab.444.d.6). Bound in carved vanesta and sealskin by Bernard C. Day, the Expedition's motor engineer.
