A. 'SELF PORTRAIT'
61713-61720. RICKETTS AND SHANNON AND 'MICHAEL FIELD' TRANSCRIPTS. Vols. I-VIII. Correspondence and journal entries, mainly by Ricketts himself but including copies of letters addressed to him and extracts from Shannon's journals; 1887-1931. Typewritten, with annotations. Arranged chronologically. Add. 61713 includes (ff. 1-9) a collection of later copies of certificates of birth, death and marriage relating to Ricketts and his family, and (ff. 10-85) typewritten copies of Ricketts's 'Desultory Musical Recollections' and of Sturge Moore's projected introduction to the published version. Much of the material is drawn from the Ricketts and Shannon Papers (Add. 58085-58118), but numerous transcripts of Ricketts's letters to other people, many of which are now lost, were also collected and form part of the present collection. Used for Self Portrait: Letters and Journals of Charles Ricketts, collected and compiled by T. Sturge Moore and edited by Cecil Lewis (1939).
