Title:

Coleridge Family Papers. Vols. cccclxxxviii-dix. Journals of Col. James Coleridge; 1799-1834. Coleridge used these journals primarily as a means of recording his financial transactions, but from 1810 this gradually expanded into a wider record, including details of his daily activities and those of his family, records of his work as a justice, agricultural and meteorological observations and some notes of events on a local and national scale. The volumes also contain a variety of miscellaneous information ranging from a recipe for Green Gooseberry Wine to remedies for stock and agricultural improvement.
