Volume of Poems by Charles Lloyd; 1795-1800. Autograph fair copies, with additions and corrections, written on one side only of thirty-nine octavo leaves of white laid paper and on both sides of a further thirteen. Watermark '[J Larking?] / 1795'. The lines on f. 52b are said to be in the hand of the poet's wife Sophia. On ff. 8b, 22b, 29b, 32b, 37b, 39b, 42b and 43b are autograph comments by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, to whom Lloyd submitted the poems for his opinion. The greater part of the dated poems fall into the period Aug.-Sept. 1797. B1005 consists of notes on which of the poems in 1005 had been published, signed 'G. A. A.' [George Aitken]. Items 1, 18, 20-23, 26 were printed in Blank Verse by Charles Lloyd and Charles Lamb, 1798, while items 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 21, 32 were printed in Nugae Canorae.
