MAX STAFFORD-CLARK PAPERS. VOLS. I-XLIII. Production diaries, 1974–1999. There are only two significant breaks in the sequence: between September 1976 and January 1977, and between June and August 1997. The latter is accounted for by a note by Stafford-Clark on the front flyleaf of diary no. 31, for 29 August 1997 to 18 May 1998 (Add. MS 79575), saying that he had lost his diary and that there would be no entries for July and August 1997. 79550 and 79552 have presentation inscriptions from the playwright Caryl Churchill.
Paper. Forty-three volumes varying in size from 245 x 155mm. to 150 x 105mm. The diaries from 79545 onwards are numbered from 1 to 32 (usually on the front flyleaf, and sometimes on the spine as well) by Stafford-Clark himself.
