Correspondence and papers chiefly of Sir Thomas Osborne (b. 1632, d. 1712), 2nd Bart., Viscount Osborne of Dunblane 1673, Viscount Latimer 1673, Earl of Danby 1674, Marquess of Carmarthen 1689, lst Duke of Leeds 1694. He was Joint Treasurer, 1668-1671, and Treasurer, 1671-1673, of the Navy, Lord High Treasurer 1673-1679, and Lord President of the Council 1689-1699. Also included are correspondence and papers of his wife Bridget, daughter of Montagu Bertie, 2nd Earl of Lindsey, and of other members of the Osborne family. The papers were used by A. Browning, op. cit., 3 vols., 1944, 1951. Seventy-seven volumes, classified as follows:-
I. Correspondence and papers of the 1st Duke of Leeds (3324-3359). II. Miscellaneous tracts (3360-3383). III. Osborne Family papers (3384-3400).
