80960-80966. STERN PAPERS. Vols. CXXIII-CXXIX. Mainly typescript with autograph corrections and annotations. After his return to the U.K. in 1956, Stern spent much of his creative writing energies on his memoirs, frequently referred to, in the correspondence, as his ‘knitting’. Various chapters were published between the sixties and eighties yet, despite various agreements, they were never collected for publication. Drafts placed in chronological order, earliest first. Individual drafts may consist of any combination of top copy, carbon copy, photocopy of typescript or publication, and galley. Ordered according to Stern’s arrangement. 22 October 1969- 1986.
