'DICTATA', or academical lectures in Latin on the 'Historiarum Epitome Horatii Tursellini' [Orazio Torsellini, d. 1599] comprised in ten books, and on the continuation of that work to the year 1650. Neither the name of the lecturer nor that of the University [Utrecht?] is given, but the lectures are introduced by a 'praefamen' on the general study of history, giving an account of 'Auctores necessarii ad Historiam Universalem', the last of those named being the Observationes of C. A. Rupertus on the Synopsis of C. Besoldus, which, he states, ' prodiit in patria nostra ante 25 fere annos et est impressus Franequerae [Franeker in Friesland] anno 1698' (vol. i, f. 7). Four volumes. At the end (vol. iv, f 228) is the colophon 'Finis ad continuationem Epitomes Historiæ Hor. Tursellini Dictatorum'. Paper; ff. 310, 323, 324, 228. Quarto. 8 in. x 6 in. Circ. A. D. 1723. Probably from the same library as nos. 33-35 (which are similarly half-bound), but not distinguishable in the sale-cat.
