COLLECTIONS for a History of Bedfordshire, made by Oliver St. John Cooper, Vicar of Thurleigh and Puddington, co. Bedford (b. 1741, d. 1801). Extracts were made from these papers for Lysons's Magna Britannia, and histories of three parishes were published by the collector in vol. iv. of Nichols's Bibliotheca Topographica Britannica [Puddington, 1783; Wimmington, 1785; Odell, 1787]. Twenty-two volumes. Purchased by Thomas Orlebar Marsh, Vicar of Stevington, co. Bedf., from whom they passed by successive purchases to Thomas Fisher, F.S.A., of Hoxton, co. Middl., to Sir Gregory Osborne Page Turner, Bart., and lastly to Sir Thomas Phillips, Bart., of Middle Hill, co. Wore., whose book-plate is stamped within each volume. Paper. Small Folio.
