Formerly belonged to Gabriel Bernard de Rieux, Président de la seconde chambre des enquetes du Parlement de Paris (d. 1745), whose arms are on the covers. Each volume (except the last) has a list of contents at the beginning. Phillipps MSS. (Vols. I.-III.) 3156, (Vol. IV.) 3157, (Vol. V.) 3158 and (Vols. VI.-VIII.) 3159 (Bale-cat. 1910, lot 52).
