PEARSALL COLLECTION. Vols. XVI-XX (ff. 33,33, i + 33, 11, i + 32). Neat copies of madrigals, part-songs, glees, etc., for four or five voices, in parts, a few by Pearsall (or slightly altered by him), but most of them by the English and Italian madrigalists of the 16th century and the English gleewriters of the late l8th century. The names of the composers are Felice Anerio, Bennet, Bisliop, Brewer, Callcott, Benjamin Cooke, Donato, John Dowland, Michael Este, Ferretti, Festa, Ford, Orlando Gibbons, William Horsley, Lasso, Thonias Linley sen., Marenzio, Morley, Pizzoni, Purcell, Jeremiah Savile, Stevens, Tye, Ward, Samuel Webbe sen., Weelkes, and Wilbye. In five volumes, of which vols. i-iii and v contain (roughly speaking) the canto, alto, tenor, and bass parts, and vol. iv the tenor (or 2nd tenor). Ff. 1-2 b in each volume, and ff. 23-24 b also in all except vol. iv, are printed. All the compositions appear to have been published with the exception of the glee by Pearsall ("Adieu, ye streams") on f. 8 b of vols. i-iii and v. Paper. XIX cent. Folio.
