EGMONT PAPERS. Vols. CLVII-CLXVI. Egmont MSS. 52-54, 160, 55-60. Newsletters addressed from London to John Perceval, 1st Earl of Egmont; 1720-1733. The newsletters mostly contain reports of parliamentary proceedings and political intelligence from the Continent. Two volumes in the same series, acquired in 1869, now Add. MSS. 27980 and 27981, follow immediately upon Add. MSS. 47077 and 47082 respectively. At the end (ff. 129-233b) of Add. MS. 47079 are printed 'Votes' of the Irish House of Commons, Oct. 1725-March 1726. Ten volumes. Brown calf bindings, some gilt- or blind-stamped. Armorial bookplates of Lord Egmont, 1715 or 1736, in each volume except Vol. CLX.
