A collection of maps accumulated by Sir Lewis Pelly during his career with the East India Company and Indian Civil Service.
The maps can be broadly divided into two topics:
- Maps relating to the Persian Gulf, showing the various explorations which occured prior to and during Sir Lewis Pelly's time as Political Resident in the Persian Gulf;
- Maps of routes taken by travellers and explorers, and maps of proposed projects which were of interest to Sir Lewis Pelly, all of which relate to Africa, and Asia.
Also included at the end of the series of maps is a photograph of an unknown building.
