This Series is comprised of two Sub-Series and contains a wide variety of published material, including, books, pamphlets, leaflets, papers, articles, notes, and newspaper cuttings covering a broad range of subjects.
Publications authored by W. H. F. Talbot, (1830-1878), contains published material which was authored in whole, or contributed to in part, by William Henry Fox Talbot. As well, some handwritten notes and rough drafts by W. H. F. Talbot have been included where there is evident relation to later published work. For the same reason offprints of Assyrian cuneiform annotated by Talbot, see (88942/3/1/22), are also included.
Where possible publications have been organised in chronological order underlining the many and varied disciplines that Talbot was involved with as well as showing both overlapping and distinct periods of engagement. These are:

Publications owned by W. H. F. Talbot and the Talbot family, (1732-1950), contains published material either owned by William Henry Fox Talbot or by other members of the Talbot family in particular his eldest and only son, Charles Henry Talbot (1842-1916).
