- These are Patam Chakali Hakku Patras. Chakali (washermen caste) are dependant community. Washermen community have further divided into two dependent castes. First caste is called Patam Chakali / Mattamvaru. Second caste in known as Ganjikutivaru. Patam Chakalivaru have painted scroll, copper plate and a palaka, a painted wooden plate. These three objects represent their right to perform. They take all the three objects to their patrons caste and show them that they have a right to sing and perform rituals. These Patam Chakali are the priests for temples of washerman community.
