- Description: The registers in this series contain information about births in the 2nd Eastern District Waterloo. The birth registers of 2nd Eastern District Waterloo start on 18 August 1867 and end on 11 September 1890. Information for each entry is recorded under standard headings including ‘number’, ‘when born’, ‘name, if any’, ‘sex’, ‘name and surname of father’, ‘name and maiden surname of mother’, ‘rank or profession of father’, ‘signature, description, and residence of informant’, ‘when registered’, ‘signature of registrar’ and ‘baptismal name, if added after Registration of Birth’. This last column relating to the baptismal name was frequently left blank. Extent of original material: 11 volumes.
