Three journals covering service with his regiment and furloughs in India and Europe between 1867 and 1873, illustrated with water-colour and pen and ink drawings. There are a number of blank pages. The numbers in square brackets refer to the sequence of drawings as they appear in the volumes as the journals are not foliated. Each volume 21 by 17 cm. Flyleaves signed and dated.
Provenance: deposited on permanent loan by the 5th Earl of Amherst, M.C., together with Add.Or.2538-2540, WD2966, and P1743; purchased 1997.
