- Various notebooks spanning 1980-2018. From 1995 onwards, the notebooks are generally consistent in format: small black reporter notebooks with elastic closure, each 125 x 75 mm. Entries are usually brief and not dated, and the hurried hand is difficult to read. The notebooks are a work tool, recording interview notes, journalism assignments, restaurant reviews, fiction notes, as well as fleeting thoughts and more general observations. Many have a yellow 'post-it' note taped to the front cover indicating principal contents. The earliest notebooks are more journal-like in character.
