Scope & Content:

These records comprise the minutes of the executive council from 1850 to 1873. The Executive Council of the Turks and Caicos Islands governed the islands from 1848 to 1874 under the leadership of a council President under the direction of the Governor of Jamaica. The executive council consisted of the President, the representative of the Colonial Secretary in Grand Turk and influential Turks and Caicos Residents.
