A série contém documentos produzidos judicialmente, no Juízo de Órfãos, e extrajudicialmente, em cartórios (serviços notariais e de registro exercidos em caráter privado, por delegação do Poder Público), em formato processo, manuscrito, entre os anos de 1855 a 1883. Os inventários registram os bens deixados pelos inventariados, como sítios, fazendas, engenhos, joias, escravos, semoventes (gado vacum e cavalar), dinheiro, e revelam as dívidas ativas e passivas, assim como a partilha dos bens entre os herdeiros. Destaca-se os inventários das famílias Albuquerque Maranhão, Gomes da Silveira e Mello Azedo.

The series has documents judicially produced in the Court of Orphans and extrajudicially produced in notaries (notarial services and registry developed in private form in formats by delegation of the Public Power), in format of legal claims, manuscript, produced between the years of 1855 to 1883. The inventories register the goods left by the inventory owners such as ranches, farms, sugarcane engenhos, jewelry, slaves, livestock (vacum cattle and horses), money, and reveal active and passive debt, as well as the sharing of goods between heirs. The inventories of the Albuquerque Maranhão, Gomes da Silveira e Mello Azedo families are prevalent.
