These bound volumes are chronologically arranged and contain information of the death and burials of individuals who the Church categorised as "of colour". Most people were classified as one of the following: de color, pardo, moreno, pardo libre, moreno libre, esclavo, indio, mulatto, etc. These designations refer to purported ethncity, racial classification, and place of origin. In some cases an African ethnonym is used that, with caution can be taken to indicate the general place of African origin of the person in question. Entries also contain information on the person's parents, when known, whether they were married, their age and, if enslaved, their enslaver. If born in Cuba, entries often contain their birth city or province. The name of the priest is also listed.
Additional language information: Mainly Spanish with occasional Latin.
