Scope & Content:

Handwritten book of the monthly expenses incurred by the Lima Asylum between 1860 and 1874. In this series it is possible to find the expenses that were made in terms of food, clothing, fees, basic services and even the amounts of the pensioner patients of the Lima Insane Asylum. The book has some page breaks in the foliation, with a total of 72 blank pages missing. The title page of the book has the following title: Book of (J)General Expenses of the Misericordia Insane Hospital.

Libro manuscrito de los gastos mensuales realizados por el Manicomio de Lima entre los años 1860 a 1874. En esta serie se puede encontrar los gastos que se realizaban en cuanto a alimentación, vestimenta, honorarios, servicios básicos e inclusive se puede observar los montos de pacientes pensionistas del Manicomio de Lima. El libro presenta saltos de páginas en el foliado, en total faltan 72 folios en blanco. En la portada del libro se lee el título siguiente: Libro de Gastos (J)Generales del Hospital de Insanos de la Misericordia.

Extent: 1 volume containing 426 folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: 43,5 cm x 29.7cm x 3,4cm.

Condition of original material: Foxing. Abrasion in the upper right corner, leaves show oxidation due to the use of iron gall inks.

Custodial history: The digital images in this collection were created as part of the EAP1402 "Digitisation of 19th century documents from the Manicomio del Cercado, Lima, Peru". The original material from the now hosted by the Víctor Larco Herrera Hospital’s Museum.

Arrangement: The files are arranged chronologically by the year they were created.
